A proven media and marketing executive, Greg Schumann specializes in strategic planning, multi-media consulting and brand positioning for clients, which have included Dillard’s, California Tourism, Home Depot and Target. At Markstein, Greg focuses on business development and marketing the agency and serves on the company’s leadership team.
Prior to joining Markstein, Greg spent more than 20 years in advertising and media, where he operated in several leadership capacities with Time Inc., ascending to group president of Time Inc. sales & marketing. He also oversaw several lifestyle brands including Southern Living, where he led brand extension initiatives, digital expansion efforts and integrated sales strategies that led to sustained top and bottom-line growth for the respective brands.
Greg also has operated in the business-to-business media space, and has overseen numerous trade shows, conferences and exhibitions. He has been a part of several media mergers and acquisitions and possesses a strong breadth of experience in positioning businesses for sale and structuring integration strategies post-sale.
Greg currently serves on the advisory board and guest lectures in the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Department of Marketing, Industrial Distribution and Economics. He also serves as an advisor to Samford University’s Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. Greg holds a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University.
