Communications and Marketing Senior Associate

The Markstein communications and marketing senior associate is a professional with 2 to 4 years of experience, dedicated to working with a collaborative team to achieve client goals. The communications and marketing senior associate has distinguished themselves through the excellence of their work and the creativeness of their ideas. They are self-starters comfortable working with a team within a multi-faceted and fast-paced environment. They possess a strong understanding of integrated communications strategies. Communications and marketing senior associate will have experience working with both B2B and B2C companies and/or non-profits and civic organizations. Agency experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop marketing and communications strategies based on clients’ unique goals and business objectives
  • Help oversee the development of pitches and work with targeted media on story development while handling media inquiries
  • Write and distribute communications materials including news releases, backgrounders, fact sheets, bios, newsletters and prepared remarks
  • Work collaboratively with team members to develop social media content calendars, blogs, website copy and other online content
  • Understand the role of earned and paid media and how they complement one another
  • Draft creative briefs and coordinate the development of creative projects including print, video, animation, digital, etc.
  • Monitor client’s business and industry to maintain a current knowledge base
  • Identify and secure corporate and executive positioning opportunities
  • Organize and manage events and promotions
  • Represent client at events or trade shows
  • Proactively develop relationships with external audiences (media, third party constituencies, etc.)
  • Actively cultivate client relationships and seek to grow current accounts
  • Compile and analyze research data
  • Monitor and report on client activities and success metrics
  • Assist in the research and preparation for new business presentations
