Manager – Advertising, Communications and Marketing

Markstein is seeking a professional with 3 to 5 years of experience, dedicated to working with a collaborative team to achieve client goals. The manager has distinguished themselves through the excellence of their work and the creativeness of their ideas. They are self-starters comfortable working with a team within a multi-faceted and fast-paced environment. They possess a strong understanding of integrated communications strategies. The manager preferably will have experience working with both B2B and B2C companies, non-profits and civic organizations. Agency experience is a plus. 

 Responsibilities: 

  • Develop comprehensive communications strategies based on clients’ unique goals and objectives 
  • Proactively develop relationships with external audiences (community and opinion leaders, media, third-party constituencies, influencers, etc.) 
  • Help oversee the development of media assets and work with targeted media contacts on story development while managing media inquiries 
  • Write and distribute communications materials including news releases, backgrounders, fact sheets, bios, newsletters and prepared remarks  
  • Monitor clients areas of focus and target audiences to maintain a current knowledge base  
  • Identify and secure executive positioning opportunities 
  • Organize, manage and, if needed, represent client at events  
  • Actively cultivate client relationships and seek to grow current accounts 
  • Assist in the research and preparation for new business pitches 
  • Compile and analyze research data  
  • Monitor and report on client media coverage 

 Qualifications and Prerequisites: 

  • Proven track record developing successful strategies with integrated communications 
  • Experience leading teams and managing complex projects 
  • Relationships with community and opinion leaders as well as the media  
  • Demonstrated ability to understand individual team member’s strengths and personal goals 
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills 
  • Outstanding presentation skills  
  • Self-motivated go-getter with a positive attitude 
  • Strong attention to detail and organization 
  • Deadline-orientation and initiative in taking on new tasks and projects 
  • Able to seek out information and solutions to problems  
  • Serves as an active team player who demonstrates a commitment to excellence and ensuring client satisfaction
