Reinvest Birmingham

Building the infrastructure for equitable economic opportunity

About the Project

Reinvest Birmingham, a federally funded initiative led by the City of Birmingham’s Department of Innovation & Economic Opportunity, was designed to connect residents in the North Birmingham, Northside, Pratt, and Smithfield communities to training programs, career pathways, and support services. The City engaged Markstein as a marketing and recruitment partner to bring that vision to life in way that felt relevant, accessible, and trustworthy to the people it was built to serve.

Markstein started by refining the Reinvest Birmingham logo and developed supporting usage guidelines. We also developed a comprehensive messaging toolkit, giving the City and its partners consistent language to use across audiences and channels. On the digital side, we designed and launched a Reinvest Birmingham landing page that gives residents an overview of the initiative and how to get started.

Reinvest Birmingham launched publicly in 2026, and the engagement is ongoing. As participation grows and outcomes data matures, Markstein continues to support the City’s efforts, building toward the kind of measurable impact that defines successful workforce initiatives.
