Senior Associate

Markstein, a creative communications agency, seeks a PR professional to join our growing team as a senior associate to serve our diverse mix of public and private sector clients.

As a senior associate, you will work alongside and support a dynamic and experienced team on complex communications projects and creative campaigns. A successful candidate will bring 2-4 years of experience, the ability to problem solve, drive, innovative thinking and an ability to juggle multiple projects, industries and clients at once. You must be a self-starter who is comfortable working on a team within a multi-faceted and fast-paced environment, and who possesses an understanding of integrated communications strategies. Our ideal candidate will have experience growing brand awareness and market share for B2B and B2C companies. Public relations agency experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in public relations
• Proven track record with media relations and digital communications
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Outstanding presentation skills
• Self-motivated go-getter with a positive attitude
• Exhibits strong attention to detail and organization
• Deadline-oriented and shows initiative in taking on new tasks and projects
• Is able to seek out information and solutions to problems
• Serves as an active team player who demonstrates a commitment to excellence and ensuring client satisfaction
• Is able to seamlessly maneuver across industries, clients and tasks throughout a workday
• Ability to continuously multitask, serving a range of team members, accounts and clients
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Remains calm under pressure and shows a high degree of logical problem solving and rapid problem solving

Responsibilities

• Help develop pitches and work with targeted media on story development while handling media inquiries
• Write and distribute basic communications materials including news releases, backgrounders, fact sheets, bios, newsletters and prepared remarks
• Monitor client’s business and industry to maintain a current knowledge base
• Identify and secure corporate and executive positioning opportunities
• Organize and manage events and promotions
• Represent client at events or trade shows
• Proactively develop relationships with external audiences (media, third party constituencies, etc.)
• Compile and analyze research data
• Monitor and report on client media coverage
• Assist in the research and preparation for new business pitches
